Ateamo went live on the new platform in May. Since then we've shipped a lot: captain approvals, rainout rescheduling, calendar sync, lineups on the pitch, team and league chat, a real notifications page, and customizable standings. Most of that list came straight from captains and league admins telling us what was slowing them down.
That's the part we want to keep doing. So this post is half "here's what we're working on" and half "tell us if we've got it wrong."
There are no dates in here on purpose. We'd rather ship something right than ship something on a deadline we made up.
What we're working on
A player app that goes where you play
Plenty of players are in more than one league. A Tuesday night league, a Sunday league, maybe a pickup game in between. We're building a player-focused app that doesn't care which league you're in. Your schedule, your teams, your player card, all in one place.
We're also exploring personal stats from the wearables players already own: distance covered, top speed, calories burned, and friendly leaderboards to go with them. Those are just for fun and bragging rights. They stay completely separate from official results and standings, which your league still controls.
From free agents to full teams
Every league has players who sign up without a team. Right now, turning a list of individual registrations into balanced teams is a lot of manual work. We're working on better ways to turn free agents into teams, help admins build teams from that pool, and help captains find the players they're missing before the season starts.
Smarter fields and venues
Field time is usually the scarcest thing a league has. We're building on the September scheduling work so you can see open slots across venues more easily and fill them faster. Further out, we're looking at field rentals, so the time you aren't using can still pull its weight.
Captains collecting team money
Ask any captain about the worst part of the job and you'll hear about money. Fronting the team fee, then chasing ten people for their share. We want Ateamo to handle that collection for captains, so nobody ends up as the team's unofficial bank.
More than soccer
Ateamo grew up on adult recreational soccer, and that isn't changing. But a lot of the same people also play volleyball and other sports, and their leagues have the same problems with rosters, schedules, and payments. We're working on making Ateamo a better fit for those leagues too.
What we want to hear from you
A roadmap only helps if it points at the problems you actually have. A few questions we'd love answers to:
- Captains: What still makes you text the league office? What do you do outside Ateamo that you wish you could do inside it?
- League admins: Where do you lose the most hours in a season? Registration week, the schedule, match night, or the money at the end?
- Players: If you play in more than one league, what's the most annoying part of keeping it all straight?
- Everyone: Which of the items above would you use first, and which one could you take or leave?
Short answers are fine. "The schedule, every single week" counts as feedback.
How to reach us
Email us at hello@ateamo.com, call (512) 877-5908, or send a message from our contact page. If you'd rather show us how your league runs, book a time and we'll walk through it together.
We read everything. Not everything will make the list, but everything gets considered, and a surprising amount of what shipped this year started as a one-line email from a captain on a Sunday night.
See you on the pitch.
