Register Your Whole Squad in About 30 Seconds

A captain's guide to "Select from the Squad," plus exactly what your players see on the other end.

Every season starts the same way: you know who's playing, but getting all of them formally registered turns into two weeks of group-chat nagging. "Did you sign up yet?" "What's the link again?" "I paid, I think?"

Ateamo's Select from the Squad flow collapses that into one screen. You tick the names, hit register, and every one of those players gets an email with everything they need to finish. You watch it happen from your Roster page in real time.

Here's the whole loop, your side and theirs.

First, the two lists that matter

Ateamo keeps two separate lists for your team, and the difference is the key to this whole feature:

  • Your Squad is everyone associated with your team: players, reserves, managers, the person who brings the cooler. It's your permanent contact list, and it carries over season to season.
  • Your Roster is the officially registered, game-eligible players for a given round or season. Referees and league admins care about this one.

Registration is the bridge between them. Every player needs a Player Pass to be active on the roster, and "Select from the Squad" is the fastest way to get returning players from one list to the other.

Rule of thumb: Returning player already in your Squad? → Select from the Squad. Brand-new person who's never been on your team? → Get invite link.

The captain's side: four clicks

Step 1. Open your Roster

From your team, go to Team → Roster. Use the round picker at the top to make sure you're on the round you're registering for.

At the top you'll see your Team status chip. If your team fee hasn't been paid yet, you'll get a red banner with a Go to checkout button. That banner is about your team registration, and it doesn't block you from registering players, so you can keep going.

Step 2. Hit "Select from the Squad"

Under the Player registration heading you'll find three buttons:

Button Use it when
Add me to roster You're playing too. Opens your own registration form. (Disappears once you're on the roster.)
Get invite link You need a shareable link for people who aren't in your Squad yet. Post it in the group chat.
Select from the Squad Your returning players are already in the Squad. This is the fast lane.

Click Select from the Squad.

Step 3. Tick the names

The dialog opens with every Squad player who isn't already on this seasons's roster. Nobody who's already registered clutters the list.

  • Search by name to narrow a long squad down fast.
  • Tick individually, or use the select-all checkbox at the top. Heads up: select-all applies to what's currently visible, so if you've typed a search term it selects those players, not all 40.
  • The running count sits right next to the checkbox, and the button updates live: Register Players (12).

Click it when the count looks right.

Step 4. Confirm

One confirmation screen: "You are registering 12 players from your Squad. Each player will receive an email with the details to complete their registration."

Hit Confirm. Done. You get a success message, and the roster refreshes underneath you.

What happens on your Roster next

Your newly registered players land in a Pending tab that appears next to Roster, grouped by what they still owe you:

  • INVITED means the email is out and they haven't opened the form yet.
  • UNPAID means they filled out their details but the fee is outstanding.

They stay in Pending until they finish. Once they're done, they move to the Roster tab under AVAILABLE and count toward your Management chart (Available / Suspended / On bench).

From the row menu on any pending player you can:

  • Resend Invite, for the guy who "definitely never got the email."
  • Pay player fee, which covers an unpaid player's fee yourself with the league's payment methods right there. This is the one that saves teams the most time: if the club is paying, you don't have to wait on anyone.
  • Send a message, so you can DM them without leaving the page.
  • Jersey number, Make a captain, and once they're registered, Move to bench and Move to active.

The player's side: closing the loop

This is the half most captains never see, so it's worth knowing what you just sent them.

1. They get an email with a direct link to their registration for your team. No hunting for a code, no "which league was this again." The link already knows the team, the season, and the fee.

2. Step 1 of 2, profile details. The form opens with your team's name and badge at the top so there's no confusion about what they're signing up for. Anything Ateamo already knows about them is pre-filled: name, email, date of birth, address, and their existing profile photo. For a returning player this is mostly a confirm screen, not a fill out screen.

They'll need:

  • Name, email, and date of birth
  • A profile photo, which becomes their Player Pass photo, so it's required
  • Address (street, city, state, postal) if your league requires it, with address autocomplete so it's a few keystrokes
  • Any league-specific required fields, such as the insurance information USSSA leagues need
  • The league waiver checkbox, if your league has one

If they enter a date of birth below the league's age minimum, they get a clear banner explaining the restriction rather than a mystery error.

3. Step 2 of 2, review and submit. A summary card of everything they entered, with a Make edits link back to step one. Then the fee:

  • If you already paid their fee, they see a green banner reading "Your registration fee has already been paid," and all they do is submit. That's the shortest possible path, and it's why paying fees in bulk from the Pending tab is such a lever.
  • If they're paying, they see the fee amount and their payment options, and go straight to checkout.
  • If your league allows pay-later, they can submit now and settle up after. They'll show as UNPAID on your roster until they do.

4. They land on your Roster. Status flips from Pending to Available, and they're game-eligible.

One note worth passing along to your team: after the schedule is published, changes to registration details have to go through the league admin. It's faster for everyone if they get it right the first time, which is exactly why the review step exists.

Troubleshooting

I don't see the registration buttons at all.
Player registration isn't open for this round yet. The buttons appear once the league has an active player registration for the round you've selected. Check the round picker first, then check with your league admin.

A player I want isn't in the list.
The dialog only shows Squad members who aren't already on this round's roster. If they're genuinely missing, they're not in your Squad yet. Go to Teammates → Squad → Add Teammates to add them, or send them the invite link instead.

Someone says they never got the email.
Open the Pending tab, find them, and use Resend Invite from their row menu. Ask them to check spam while you're at it.

Half my team is stuck on UNPAID.
Either chase them individually, or take it off their plate: use Pay player fee on each pending row and cover it from the team side. Their registration then becomes a two-click confirmation.

I registered someone by mistake.
They'll sit in Pending without completing. Reach out to your league admin to have the registration cancelled.

The short version

  1. Team → Roster, pick your round.
  2. Select from the Squad.
  3. Tick names → Register Players (N)Confirm.
  4. Watch the Pending tab. Resend invites or pay fees straight from the row.
  5. Players confirm their profile, accept the waiver, handle the fee, and appear on your Roster.

Five minutes of your time instead of two weeks of group chat. That's the whole point.
