Ateamo Update: Smarter Registration Rules, Easier Transfers, and Better Tools for Captains

Registration week is when a league either runs smoothly or turns into a pile of texts, screenshots, and "did I pay?" emails. This release is aimed squarely at that week, and at everything that follows it. Registration rules now do more of the policing for you, league admins get proper tools for transfers, and captains and players get a handful of everyday improvements that make the season run a little smoother.

Here's what's new, organized by who you are. Jump to your section, or read the whole thing if you wear more than one hat (most of you do).

For league admins

Registration rules that enforce themselves

A lot of registration headaches come from situations that shouldn't be allowed in the first place. This release adds rules so Ateamo handles them for you:

  • One team per division. Players can still play on multiple teams, but only one team per division.
  • Paid before active. A registration can't be activated until it's paid.
  • Automatic cleanup at close. Unpaid registrations expire or cancel when registration closes, so you aren't left chasing ghosts after the deadline.
  • Age-restricted divisions. Division eligibility can now respect age restrictions.
  • Compare to last season. See how this season's registrations stack up against last season's, so you know early who hasn't come back yet.

Transfers without the spreadsheet

Moving people and teams around mid-season used to mean a lot of manual steps. League Manager now includes:

  • A dedicated player transfer page.
  • Team transfer and team swap, for when a team needs to move or two teams need to trade places.
  • Transaction details on member pages, so a player's payment history is right there when you're answering a question about it.

Settings and records that work the way you do

  • Better league settings, including clearer division information.
  • Registration fields follow the order you set in settings, so forms ask questions in the order that makes sense for your league.
  • Edit only future events, so changes to the schedule going forward don't rewrite what already happened.
  • Notes and history updates make it easier to keep track of what changed and why.

Ateamo now has its own link shortener, so the links you share with captains and players are tidy enough to drop into a text, an email, or a flyer.

For captains

Cancel a practice in seconds

Field's flooded or half the team is out? Captains can now cancel practices directly, without asking the league to do it for them.

A chat for your registered players

Your team now gets a chat for its registered players, so the people who are actually on the roster have one place to coordinate.

Faster lineups

Lineup building now includes search, so you can find a player by name instead of scrolling through the whole squad on match day.

Temporary player cards

Temporary player cards are now supported across League Manager, the web app, and email, so the card a player is carrying shows up consistently wherever it's checked.

For players

See who you're playing with

Every player on a team can now see their teammates, not just the captain. Handy when you're wondering whether that new guy actually signed up, or you need to put a name to a face before kickoff.

Registration that's harder to get wrong

The new registration rules help players too. You can't accidentally end up on two teams in the same division, age-restricted divisions are clear about eligibility, and a registration only becomes active once it's paid, so "am I actually on the roster?" has a straight answer.

Easier sign-in, notifications, and account recovery

  • Sign in with Apple is now available on the web app.
  • In-app notifications now show up on the web app, so you see updates while you're signed in.
  • Password reset has been improved, so getting back into your account is quicker and less confusing.

What's coming next

We're already working on what's next, including an integration with Assignr for referee assigning and a way for captains to hand off the captain role to someone else. No dates yet. We'll share more when they're ready.

Suggested first steps

  • League admins: review your division settings and registration field order before your next registration window opens, and take a look at the new transfer tools.
  • Captains: check your roster before your next game and point your registered players to the new team chat.
  • Players: sign in to the web app, check your notifications, and try Sign in with Apple if that's easier for you.
